CUHK Public Health Humanitarian Initiative

CUHK Public Health Humanitarian Initiative (CUHK-PHHI) is a flagship initiative within the School of Public Health and Primary Care and the CUHK academic community. The initiative will aim to combine expertise in public health, medicine, social science and humanities to advance research, practice and policy in humanitarian assistance to disadvantaged and marginalized populations. It coincides with CUHK School of Public Health and Primary Care’s long term plans to develop regional public health expertise in global health research.

It supplements our teaching in global health and provides opportunities for our students at all levels to experience, plan, develop and implement health assistance, resilience and development with communities affected by poverty and by disaster.

The four major activity areas are
1) Education and Training;
2) Research and Evaluation;
3) Policy and Technical Guidelines Development and
4) Public Health Relief and Emergency Assistance.

CUHK-PHHI also organises a series of Global Health Public Seminars annually.  Students are welcome to join the activities and support this initiative.
