| Biography |
Dr. Foo’s medical career started with his studies of medicine in The University of Hong Kong. He had internship and worked as medical officer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital from 1966 to 1969. Since Mid 80, he has been working as Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and as Honrary Clinicial Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, The Hong Kong University. In 1995, he was the host of the 14th World WONCA Conference in Hong Kong.
Dr. Foo worked as consultant for government health and medical service. He was Hononary Consultant in Primary Care for the Department of Health from 1990 to 1992. He was part-time Consultant of Family Medicine for Hospital Authority starting from 2002 to 2006. Also, Dr. Foo was member in the medical or non-government organizations. He assisted in founding the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians and has been council member of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians up to now. Between 1992 and 1998, He was President of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians. Also, he was interim council member of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and council member of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. He was elected council member of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine between 1999 and 2000. Since 2004, he has been Honorary Treasurer of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. Starting from 2006, he has been member of Preliminary Investigation Committee of Hong Kong Medical Council. Moreover, he is Chairman of Commission for health of Catholic Clergy and Religious and Honorary Medical Consultant of St. Joseph’s Home of the Aged, Little Sisters of the Poor. |
