Biography

Professor Wang joined the Department of Community and Family Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007. She also is a visiting scientist of the Harvard School of Public Health and Primary Care, and honorary professor of the School of Public Health and Primary Care, Sichuan University.

After earning her degrees and appointed as an academic staff at the Chinese University of Medical Sciences, Professor Wang was awarded a Japanese scholarship, and by the Fogarty scholarship of NIH for postdoctoral training at the Tokyo University and later on at the Harvard School of Public Health and Primary Care. In Japan, Professor Wang was appointed as a visiting associate professor by Tokyo University and then associate professor by the International Institute of Teikyo University. She has nearly two decades of working experience in Japan, the United States, as well as in China, and serves as an editorial board member of several international journals.

Professor Wang’s research interest and activity mainly center on environmental and occupational epidemiology, and quantitative evaluation of health outcomes, particularly in environmental/occupational exposure related respiratory disease and cancer research. Among the major research projects she conducted and joined included evaluation and classification of respiratory impairment of workers exposed to asbestos, silica and coal dust, and patients with pneumoconiosis; lung cancer in asbestos workers, air pollution and respiratory health, a longitudinal cohort study in cotton textile workers.
