Division of Health Improvement
The Division has several strategic research areas, including health setting research, HIV and sexual health, mental health, promotion of healthy life styles, injury prevention, addiction studies, behavioural responses to emerging infectious diseases (e.g. SARS, avian flu and H1N1) and global health improvement. It is adopting an inter-disciplinary approach, promoting the integration of public health with social sciences in the region and developing new approaches for health improvement such as social marketing and evidence-based intervention. It is supported by the Centre for Health Education and Health Promotion and Centre for Health Behaviours Research. Extensive collaborations with Chinese and international research and governmental institutions have been developed.
