As a Food and Nutritional Science student, it broadens my knowledge and skills both theoretically and practically, and allows me to apprehend and address current public health issues from a broader perspective. Undoubtedly, it enhances my understanding on the operation between government departments and NGOs, which are vital to bring about positive influences on community health. Minor Programme in Public Health equips me to be a competitive professional in public health and community nutritional field."

"The first thing comes to my mind about studying Minor Programme in Public Health is being taught by a group of quality teachers. To me, knowledge and skills of the subject is just as important as how the teachers guide us. My tutor is very nice and helpful. She teaches me how to conduct research. Guidance from tutors and teachers removes all the obstacles in learning, which enhance my interest in this particular field. I am planning to pursue study in Master of Public Health Programme in future."

Goofy Yu-man TSUI |
2009 Graduate, Major in Molecular Biotechnology and Minor in Public Health
"It is rewarding to have public health as my minor subject. It widens my horizon in different subjects apart from my major study. Public health involves collaboration between different professions from statistics, medicine, education, etc, which provides room for exchange and learning. It is most exciting to know that I can play a role in improving health of general population by adopting evidence- and statistics-based strategies and other ways for disease prevention. It raises my awareness on the health issues of our society and the world. Public health cares about the health benefits of the society and so do I." |
