Biography

Professor Yip obtained his PhD in biostatistics from the department of medical epidemiology and biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, in 2008. His thesis focused on statistical method development to estimate the relative contributions of genetic and environmental factors on the concurrence for diseases – by using national-based family registries.  After his PhD, he worked as a post doc fellow at the Psychiatry department of the University of Hong Kong. Professor Benjamin Yip joined the School of Public Health and Primary Care as a Research Assistant Professor at the Division of Family Medicine and Primary Health Care in September 2011.
His research interests include statistical methodology and application in psychosis, genetic and environment determination on human diseases, disease comorbidity and survival analysis.
