| Biography |
Professor Tsang obtained her medical degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and holds a Bachelor of Science in International Health from University of Leeds. She received her post-graduate medical training at University of Virginia Medical Center and has been certified by the American Board of Family Physician. Professor Tsang completed a fellowship in Maternal and Child Health in Chicago where she managed pregnant women with high obstetrical risks and performed normal and operative deliveries including cesarean sections.
Professor Tsang has a strong interest in evidence based medicine (EBM) and worked extensively with Professor David Slawson from University of Virginia who is one of the creators of POEMs (Patient Oriented Evidence that Matters) and the Information Mastery paradigm used in teaching EBM. She also has a strong interest in global health and has practiced medicine in China, The Gambia, Malawi, South Africa and Tanzania. During her family medicine training at University of Virginia, she was one of the few selected physicians to work in the International Family Medicine Clinic to provide healthcare for refugees who came from all regions of the world.
Professor Tsang joined the School of Public Health and Primary Care to work with the Division of Family Medicine and Primary Health Care and Centre of Research and Promotion of Women’s Health in September 2011.
