Biography
|
Dr. Chung joined the School of Public Health and Primary Care (SPHPC) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2011.
He conceptualizes the health and healthcare issues of the population using the lens of public health ethics and justice,
and utilizes epidemiological and demographic methods in the areas of poverty and health, health inequality,
social determinants of health, migrants’ health, as well as aging-related issues on multimorbidity and long-term/end-of-life care
to inform health services, system and policy. He has had numerous publications including academic articles in leading high-impact peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and consulting reports.
Dr. Chung is the Stream Leader of Development, Poverty and Health of the Centre for Global Health and a founding executive committee member of the up-and-coming Centre for Migration and Mobility, to be commenced in Fall 2016.
He also actively collaborates with international partners through three Worldwide Universities Network (WUN)’s working groups
on global migrants’ health, advanced epidemiological methodology and intergenerational health equity.
He has served in various official consultation committees by the Government, including the Domestic Health Accounts and Thematic Household Survey of the Food and Health Bureau, and has been involved in two Government commissioned projects on elderly care and healthcare resource allocation exercise.
