| Biography |
| Professor Congdon interned in Internal Medicine, Washington Hospital Centre from 1993 to 1994. Staring from 1994, he worked as resident in Ophthalmology, Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital for three years. He was fellow in Glaucoma, Wills Eye Hospital with Dr. George Spaeth during the period of 1997 to 1998. He acted as Assistant Chief of Service, Director of Ocular Trauma Service in the Wilmer Eye Institute. Since 1999, He worked in Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and was promoted to Associate Professor of Opthalmology from 2002 to 2006. Also, Professor Congdon was an Associate Professor of Internation Health, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Primary Care between 2002 and 2006. Before working in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he was Director of Eye Health, Helen Kelleer International for two years. Now, he is Professor (By Courtesy), School of Public Health and Primary Care and Professor, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. From 2006 onwards, Professor Congdon is Professor in Joint Shantou International Eye Centre, Shantou PRC and acts as Advisor in Project Vision, Hong Kong. He has all-around language talent such as Mandarin Chinese (fluent spoken and reading), Spanish, Japanese (reading) and Arabic (some reading knowledge). |
