Our mission |
|
CUHK Public Health Humanitarian Initiative (CUHK-PHHI) is an initiative of the School of Public Health and Primary Care (SPHPC) within the CUHK academic community. We aim to combine expertise in public health, medicine, social science and humanities to advance research, practice and policy in humanitarian assistance to disadvantaged and marginalized populations. It coincides with CUHK SPHPC’s long term plans to develop regional public expertise in global health research. Our mission is to reduce health inequalities by contributing skills and knowledge in advancing the science and practice of humanitarian response worldwide. There are two major goals of our team: ◆ To improve the effectiveness of humanitarian strategies in public health and medical interventions, with emphasis on ethics and human values; ◆ To build an interdisciplinary network at CUHK to analyze and support public health development and assistance initiatives in the Asia-Pacific Region. |
