The missions of the COEHS are to conduct excellent research, teaching and training, as well as provide valuable services to the community in terms of occupational and environmental health.

 

Biography
 

Professor Shelly Tse now heads the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health Studies (COEHS) and the Division of Occupational and Environmental Health, JC School of Public Health and Primary Care. Her major expertise is in the area of occupational and environmental cancer etiology, particularly for lung cancer and breast cancer, as well as large occupational cohort of night shift work in China. Prof. Shelly Tse is the principal investigator of a GRF/RGC project about nightshift work and female breast cancer (2011-2013), two NSFC projects (National Natural Science Foundation of China) about nightshift work, two PCFB (Pneumoconiosis Compensation Fund Board) funded projects, two Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC) funded projects, and two NCI/NIH funded projects about breast cancer, molecular epidemiology, and environmental exposures. Moreover, Shelly Tse has close collaborations with the SYNERGY Project of lung cancer (led by IARC/WHO).
