Dr. Bernard Choi is a senior research scientist in the Public Health Agency of Canada, and an adjunct professor in the University of Toronto (Canada), University of Ottawa (Canada), Carleton University (Canada) and Shantou University (China). Before joining the Government of Canada, he was a professor in the University of Toronto. He has a PhD in epidemiology (Canada) and an MSc in occupational health and safety (UK). He has conducted original research and published more than 140 scientific papers in occupational and environmental health, epidemiology and surveillance of chronic diseases and risk factors, knowledge translation, policy research, program evaluation and international health. He has created a series of statistical procedures for public health, and invented a chronic disease clock. He has received a number of professional awards including the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada’s Gold Medal.
