The Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) 2017 – “Health in the Era of Big Data” hosted by the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine was held in the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine on 16 September 2017. Academic staff and research students from our School have actively supported and participated in the event.
We have not only set up a booth in the ASM, abstracts are also submitted for presentation. Prof May Yeung, our Assistant Professor, served as a moderator in the Keynote Address (II) – IT Innovation and Data Analytics for improving healthcare services. Prof Kelvin Tsoi, our Associate Professor (by courtesy) and Dr Carrie Yam, our Research Associate, who have presented in Free Papers Sessions, have both awarded the Best Oral Presentation Award with their presentations titled “Impact of the Enhanced Elderly Healthcare Voucher Scheme on Health Services Utilization: A Mixed Method Study” and “Classification of Blood Pressure Variability: A Machine Learning Approach for Data Clustering on Home Telemonitoring Blood Pressure.” respectively.
