Project for Healthy Families (JCSATH) for being one of the winners of the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award of the Hong Kong Primary Care Conference 2023 for their research - Community-Based Health Screening – A Public Health Priority, with our fellow Research Associate Dr. Bulbul SHARMA as the lead author.
JCSATH aims to enhance the health profile of ethnic minorities through health literacy and health management.
The study identifies the prevalence of cardiovascular conditions and proportion of undiagnosed patients with cardiovascular conditions among South Asian (SA) in Hong Kong by community-based health screening, and aims to raise awareness about the importance of community-based health screenings in early detection of illnesses.
Research team suggests that a long-term patient support program is needed, to reduce to risk of chronic diseases among SAs, and resulting healthcare expenditures, by providing early health screenings and personalized recommendations based on an individual's lifestyle habits.
