个人简历

Dr. Tsz Ho Kwan is currently a Research Assistant Professor at the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, and S.H. Ho Research Centre for Infectious Diseases, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). His research focuses on the epidemiology and prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI). His research work spans from using molecular and network approaches for understanding transmission dynamics to conducting clinical trials using drugs, vaccines, and digital innovations for preventing HIV/STI in the sexual minority community.

Dr. Kwan, as a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, received research grants of over HK$13 million. He is also the award recipient of Gilead Sciences Research Scholars Program in HIV in 2023. He has published peer-reviewed papers in international journals including Emerging Microbes & Infections (impact factor: 19.568), JMIR Public Health and Surveillance (impact factor: 14.557), and International Journal of Infectious Diseases (impact factor: 12.074). Dr. Kwan also gave oral presentations in various international conferences, such as The Lancet-CAMS Health Conference. He is an editorial board member of BMC Infectious Diseases (since 2022) and BMC Public Health (since 2023), an advisory board member under the Infectious Diseases section of Heliyon (since 2022), and a technical programme committee member of multiple Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) conferences. He is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the IEEE. He is currently a member of the Hong Kong Advisory Council on AIDS (since Aug 2023).

Dr. Kwan obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from City University of Hong Kong and completed the PhD degree in Public Health at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also obtained a law degree and a postgraduate diploma in the field of professional and vocational education. Before joining the School, he received postdoctoral training in Stanley Ho Centre for Emerging Infectious Diseases, CUHK.
